LinkWithin and nRelate
Hey, it’s Jeremy again. WARNING! This post is about Techy Blog Stuff.
Anyway, last week I posted about switching to Linky Followers since Friend Connect is no more for non-Blogspot sites. REMINDER, SIGN UP FOR LINKY FOLLOWERS!
Well, this week I noticed that we were getting a decent amount of referrals from “widget6.linkwithin.com.” I looked into this and found out that if you are using LinkWithin (this is a widget that places the thumbnails below every post of related posts) every time someone clicks on one of the thumbnails, it redirects them to LinkWithin then back to whichever post in your blog that they clicked on.
This is bad for two reasons. First, this is annoying because it is a sneaky way for LinkWithin to get a bunch of “visits”. Second, this is bad for your blog because it steals your “internal link juice” (I didn’t make this name up, it is real). I found a pretty good article about it here. And, if you are curious, here is an article about internal link juice and why it is a good thing for your blog.
So, long story short, if you are using LinkWithin switch to something else. Personally, we’ve started using nRelate. Not only does nRelate NOT steal your internal link juice, but it has more layout and design options than LinkWithin.
And for my your viewing pleasure, my B-E-A-Utiful wife and the awesomest kid ever.

If I could have any other job in the world…
Right now I am enjoying my career as a stay-at-home mom. When my kid(s) start going to school, I plan to resume my original career as a School Psychologist. That is unless I magically decide to homeschool… which I won’t… but I might.
But there are certain jobs I’ve always dreamed of having if giving the chance. And here they are, in no particular order:
1. Long-haul truck driver. I love driving, especially long distance driving. This made coming home from college something I looked forward to- not just to see my family (and eat home cooked meals) but because I got to drive for six glorious hours. Radio turned up, Reese’s Pieces, windows down = true living. I would love to get paid to drive, especially at night when there is little to no traffic and I can just be alone in the open road with my favorite music. And driving to different cities and states would seem so fun! Of course, I may be glamorizing it but in my mind this would be awesome!
2. Administrative Assistant. When I was little, I loved to pretend I was working behind a desk, answering calls, dealing with deadlines, organization, schedules and projects. It would be great to have a job where I could dress up, interact with professionals, and be in charge of important things. I could have lunch with colleagues, great benefits, and then go home without taking my work with me. I know there’s a lot more to it than that but I have to glamorize it in my mind.

3. Baker. My favorite part of working at the ice cream store in college was making frosting and decorating the ice cream cakes. I have always loved baking and decorating yummy desserts. When I go to the grocery store, I usually go straight to the bakery to admire the decorated sweets and yearn for a job that includes a piping bag, hair net, and spatulas. I still think that one day I will walk into a bakery, fill out an application, and get that dream job. The only problem with this dream is having to go into work before sunrise. Of course this could be solved if I could take a nap during the day sans children.
4. Architect. Since my biggest addiction growing up was reading and I had a vivid imagination, I always designed houses for the characters to live in. I have mentally designed my dream house and about about six more houses that are amazing (to me). Jeremy bought me a computer program that allowed me to actually design the houses and they are stored in his hard drive. One day maybe I can sell my plans or at least watch them come to life. I realize architects do a lot more than design houses but I’d enjoy all aspects of the job. In my mind.

5. Fashion designer. Clearly, most girls have dreamed of this at one point or another and I am no different. Although I don’t care much about fashion, and can barely get dressed most days, I have enjoyed designing special pieces including my prom dress and other pretty gowns. I like the creative aspect of this but notsomuch the competitive, dramatic side to it.

B and P, a love story…
So this weekend we went to a local Italian Fest. It was nothing out of the ordinary, you know – pizza, calzones, fresh mozzarella, bounce houses, live Italian music, and local vendors trying to sell all types of nicknacks.
But for Benjamin, I think this may have been the beginning of a love affair that’s all too common. That is the love story of kid and pizza.
As you can see, he was, at first, a little shy, a little skeptical. In the past, he’s been hurt by too many foods posing as delicious but turning out icky!
A little bite,

And now it’s on, I LOVE PIZZA!

And I don’t care who knows!

This is the beginning of a beautiful thing.

So What! Wednesday
Linking up with Shannon over at Life After I Dew for So What! Wednesday.

*I’m not Catholic but I’m thinking of giving up something for lent. Not sure I’d want to give up food/drinks, but maybe I’ll give up buying clothes. Maybe. I’ve thought about giving up complaining, but 40 days is a long, long time.
*Or maybe adding something for the next 40 days for lent. Like more water to my diet, or more sweet words to my speech. Idunnoknow.
* I already know what I want for my birthday! My birthday isn’t for another 2 months.
*I’m not a big fan of Dr. Oz. His voice bugs me and I think he has ‘evil eyebrows.’ Yet I watch his show daily.
*I can only jump rope backwards.
*I’ve been thinking of buying new toys for Benjamin; not because he needs them but because I know he’d enjoy them. I feel like he has a lot of ‘baby’ things and could really benefit from toddler toys. Again, he doesn’t need any- I’m just crazy.
